Thoughts on an ever-evolving life

Your Silence is Deafening

Blog Post-4-30-2016-Your Silence is Deafening

What did I do?
What did I say?
Why won’t you talk to me?
Why did you just go away?

Not a word,
Not a sign,
I’ve heard nothing from you,
For a very long time.

I don’t know what I said,
I don’t know what I did,
To deserve this silence.
Will you ever speak to me again?

I miss our interaction.
I miss your strong command.
I want to hear from you.
I’m confused and very sad.

My heart aches,
My stomach churns,
My eyes well with tears,
Will you ever return?

Please tell me why.
Please explain.
Your silence is deafening,
And causing me pain.

  1. Powerful post, beautifully written. I truly hope it is all fiction. Couldn’t imagine anyone walking away from someone like you. xoxo

    • Thank you SO much. You are too kind. Sometimes, people just don’t have the words, so they walk away I guess. It’s always sad when it happens, but it happens a LOT in Bloglandia. I was just feeling sad about it, so I decided to put it into words. Luckily, I still have WONDERFUL people in my life, just like YOU! XOXO
How are you doing? I sure hope your crazy is calming down.

      • Today, will be my last crazy day. After that you will have me here back to normal. Whatever normal may be XOXO I have many blogger firends who drop out without saying a word. I would never disappear. That has never been my style.

      • As long as I get you back, I don’t care what normal is. Besides, normal is boring. Give me exciting, unexpected and unplanned anytime! 🙂

  4. I’ve had a silent goodbye. A few times.
It’s a slow death and it hurts dreadfully.
    Beautiful post

    • Yes Ma’am, it is. Every minute that passes can seem like an hour and a single day can last for an eternity. We must just accept it for what it is I guess, Even though it REALLY SUCKS. Thank you for the lovely compliment. 🙂

  5. I completely understand this, it’s beautiful and poignant, Amelia. I had a couple friends recently walk away with no words, no reply. It never feels good, even when you know you did all you could.

  6. Hugs. Silence is NOT always golden. Unless you are a harpy. Then it’s a mandate.

  8. Some ships are out longer than others so maybe they are just over the horizon. Keep a weather eye out and put the good of what they taught you to practice until you meet again.

  9. I hope everything works out one way or another. I think most of us have had someone vanish suddenly or even not suddenly in this online world. It sucks… but if someone doesn’t care enough to at least explain their disappearance, they’re not worth the time or energy. And certainly not worth spending valuable writing time on! I hate the thought of giving them the satisfaction of knowing that they’re still in your head so much that you’re writing about them! xo

  10. Such passion. Such feelings. And then I read it again. And again. And….looking at it from a different point of view. Maybe, just maybe the voice said nothing wrong. Maybe it’s not intended for that voice at all. Maybe the silence is meant to not cause you pain but to heal the pain. If that makes any sense and by no means am I challenging your words I just drew inspiration from it. Always enjoy your words !!

    • You are so insightful Sir. Sometimes the silence is not meant to hurt, but to heal. We just need reminded of that from time to time. This was a beautiful look from an entirely different angle. xo

  11. Was this just a dream or the ramblings of a lazy day? Tell me there is no truth behind your words, that there is no pain, loneliness nor fear and you are well.

    • There is always some pain, loneliness and fear. There is also always happiness, friendship and love. I was having a bit of brain swirl, trying to center myself, and this is what came out. Releasing the words help calm my internal storms. Thank you SO MUCH for you love, concern and friendship. With people in my life like you, how could I ever be anything but good. 😊
